While most of us wouldn’t dream of putting up Christmas decorations until December, the retail industry began putting theirs up at the end of October! As mentioned in one of our previous blog posts, Selfridges boasted being the first department store in the world this year to unveil its Christmas window on October the 19th, even before Halloween. Many followed in November and by now the high streets are full to the brim with street decorations and Christmas shopping windows, so we thought we’d go and take a look!
We’re loving the NSPCC/Sky Christmas decorations on Oxford street. This is the second year running that Oxford street have partnered up with NSPCC for the much anticipated annual switching on of the lights. House of Fraser have opted for a striking Christmas tree display around their flagship store, very festive!
Harrods have teamed with Dolce & Gabbana to create their amazing window display, focusing on the party aspect of Christmas. Each window has a different Christmas situation – including a fun fair and a Christmas party. What’s not to love?
It’s hard not to fall in love with Harvey Nicholls’ window display – with its bright colours and bold shapes, including stars, baubles and LED lights. The company explained they wanted to create a window with high energy to entertain their customers and stop them from dwelling on the uncertainty of the current climate. Party on!
So there’s our run down of window displays, we hope this post has inspired you and made you feel even more ready for Christmas than we’re sure you already are. We’ve had a go at our own festive displays over in our other blog post. If you’re a jewellery or fashion/accessories retailer we would love it if you shared your own Christmas display pictures with us on social media, using the hashtag #TJDCCrimboWindow. Don’t be shy, we aim to share anything that catches our eye!
